Among Us: the wide game.

Do you remember the famous game everyone was playing during the pandemic, Among Us? Even Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez played it ! If you don't know the game it's alright, we won't hold it against you. The premise of the game is that there is a crew on a spaceship with tasks to do. (Empty the rubbish, refill the fuel engine, fix the electricity and whatnot) Up to 3 crew mates are impostors who try to kill the crew without being found. They also have a list of tasks but are not required to do them, it's just so they can look less suspicious.  The impostors have to be discreet when they kill crew mates. When someone is found dead, the person who found them calls for a meeting to discuss what they saw, who they think did it, they can accuse people, say why they think so and so did it etc. Impostors are allowed to call for meetings too. You can limit the discussion time. After that everyone takes a vote. The person who gets the most votes gets thrown from the ship and we discove...

Lego woggles!

Image
Look at me, I haven't posted in over a year and I choose to blog about woggles again! But hey, it's my blog and I do what I want to. Ever since I can remember I have loved Lego and I have accumulated many sets and bricks over the years and I am not ashamed to say that even today, I still enjoy them. I make accessories for my house with them and display sets that I love. Tonight I've been building Lego woggles that I can't wait to show off to my Cubs over the next few weeks but I thought it would be nice to show them on here too because sharing is caring. Lego woggles and fun woggles should not be worn in just any situation though, for examples if one attends a service or ceremony requiring formal uniform, it is best to stick to a sober woggle such as a leather turk's head or any official woggle one may have received at investiture or upon completion of their Wood Badge. But camps, fun events and regular meetings are fair game, go nuts! I've used several techniqu...

There is something about a nice woggle.

"Dear O., please find the last two badges I owed you (Community Impact lv 1 & Moving on to Scouts Award) and this woggle[*] I handcrafted especially for you. Each leaving Cub, A., L., E. & you got one customised with your names. I couldn't give you yours in person. It has been a pleasure & a privilege to be your leader. You are a great person, funny, kind and smart too. Keep up the good attitude and smile! Well done for all your hard work, see you at District Camp! Yours in Scouting, Bagheera" This is what my note to a leaving Cub says. I'm sending this to him through the mail as he could not attend our last Pack meeting of the year last Wednesday and he is moving on up to Scouts in the next term. Two customised leather woggles made by Bagheera As it says in the note, I made each leaving Cub a woggle out of leather on which I engraved their name with a beveler. I painted the incurved letters with a golden acrylic paint marker. I sat the Cubs d...

Scout Badges and where to get them.

Image
Every time I pull out my camp blanket in the presence of my Cubs, I get the same questions: where and how did I get all of those badges, can they steal the Minecraft ones, can I please give them my badges and when the answer to these last two question is no, where and how can they get badges? Now, as a leader, the first answer I will give you and a quite obvious one at that, if you want badges, you can earn them by meeting the requirements! But what I will also tell you is that you can buy and swap many badges with the help of the internet and social media and of course you should bring your spare badges at camps to swap with other scouts you meet from around the world! There even is an annual European Scout and Guide Collectors' Meeting ! Every year in Autumn, the Scouts and Guides Museum in Leuven organises this international meeting where Scouts and Guides from all over the world come for the day to sell, buy and swap badges and scouting memorabilia. If you really get into colle...
